NYE.

This one year I celebrated New Years Eve in Rome.

We went to dinner and received the senior special before the other guests arrived at 9:30pm. It was a full Italian meal of anti pasta bruschetta, primi pasta, second bistecca (steak) and tiramisu for dessert, wine and aqua frizzante.

This is classic Italians. Squished together in a mob with no clear direction where the entrance is and they are screaming and yelling at each other. I can’t help but laugh, this is all part of the experience. I’m being pushed to the side, but I want to go forward. It’s like a rip tide pulling me and trying to swim against it. As we get closer to the gate everyone is caving in on me. I’m now worried my lungs or ribs will be crushed. One final push and I’m through the gate. I look back and see the scared look on Jen’s face as the guard was holding her and Brad back. He saw our finders still intertwined and let them through. Sigh of relief. And now we are at a concert in Italy on New Years Eve.

I have no idea what the girl is saying but it makes me want to dance all the more.

Fireworks have started at 12:00 and the Italians are just arriving in the city. Senior special again means we have the entire subway system to ourselves. And Brad was all worried we were going to be in a crowd… already done that tonight.
