It’s 2:30am. How am I still awake?
My body doesn’t know what’s happening right now? It needs to burp, but also poop. It could do a workout or maybe go to sleep. Strange things start happening in a train station waiting for your connection at this hour.
We finally make it on the train. But we are kicked out of business class and told to go find our seat further up the train.
I’m taking a mental picture of Hannah’s blue backpack right now as I walk behind her. There are so many smells we are passing. So many sleepers in various positions.
Waiting to see number 10 appear on the door we keep walking and walking. Why are we still in car number two? We finally reach car number 5 and almost open the door to the end of the train. Nope, I don’t want to go outside right now. So.. now what?
We start walking back. Passing the sleeper cars on our way. One is open. Slowly. Who would know? It looks like the train car from Harry Potter. Two bunk beds and a couch with a window, sliding door and curtain. I’m too tired to think. My bag drops to the ground and I fall on the couch. Maybe if we are really quiet they won’t even know we are here. We turn off the light and close the curtain. The two of us, vagabond gypsies for the night. Cuddled up on the couch together. It feels too wrong to take the beds. My head propped again my backpack I look up at the stars as the cities go wizzing by.
My friend sleeps and I can feel how tired she is. Lord, please let us sleep here tonight. Don’t let them kick us out. We are so tired. Please keep them away.
We toss we turn.
6:00am. The only thing to wake us is the whistle to say we have arrived in Prague.
